Not hip-hop in it's strictest sense, but Bonobo surpasses all genres with his work. I've listened to Simon Green from Animal Magic to Days to Come, and his transformation over the years has been astounding. I've always liked him because of his music has an 'organic' quality, whether in a solo DJ set or with a band. His latest work can only be truly enjoyed in a live set, and is comprised of string and wind instruments, piano, guitar, drums, turntables, and the very lovely Bajka from Berlin!

Bottom line: if you only grab one thing off this site, make it this.

If you missed the inauguration, these two performances perfectly captured the overwhelming emotion of this momentous occasion.

Aretha Franklin's gospel rendition of "My Country Tis of Thee" left me speechless. Utterly breath-taking. The chord arrangements at 1:42 would make anyone shed a tear (except maybe Dick Cheney) And maybe its just me, but it sounds like she tells someone to shut up at 2:16 haha

Beyonce's cover of Etta James' "At Last" while the Obama's had their first dance at the Neighborhood Ball was also quite moving, and it definately raised Barack to ultimate G status. Beyonce seemed like she was doing all she could just to keep from crying during the song..
